Process

NeXT employs two project generation workflows, one tailored to the external community, the other to faculty and students:

• A pathway “in” is provided by a standing solicitation, broadcast quarterly to potential community partners, with a proposal review and vetting process, as well as funding discovery and planning for the lifecourse and afterlives of the project.
   
• A pathway “out” is provided through a biannual request for proposals and funding mechanism, activating faculty and students interested in pursuing translational research to the benefit of the broader community.
   
• Projects with potential for commercialization can be routed to Beall Applied Innovation, as appropriate.
